Paperwork checklist before the meeting

Prior to your SMSF client meeting, make sure that:

  • You have a login to A.S.A.P. and have familiarised yourself with the system.  Refer to our step-by-step tutorial for support.
  • The client, and spouse, will bring in photo ID that you can copy, certify and scan.  E.g. a drivers license or passport.  You will need to complete an  ID verification cover sheet and scan it and the certified ID together.
  • If the client is considering rollovers from an existing fund, you will need them to physically sign A.S.A.P.’s  Letter Of Authority ready to sign, scan and upload into A.S.A.P.  Many existing funds won’t accept a digital signature for this purpose.
  • Hint: To save time during the meeting, ensure you set up the client’s basic details in the system before the meeting:  names, address, dates of birth, email address
  • If you wish, you can then issue the client with A.S.A.P.’s welcome email (which includes A.S.A.P.’s financial services guide) ahead of the meeting. This can be initiated from within the client’s record on A.S.A.P.  Alternatively you can do this later.
